Delete your AnKara account
This page explains how to delete your AnKara account and the data linked to it. You do not need the app installed to make a request.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open AnKara and sign in.
- Go to Settings and tap Delete Account.
- Read the summary, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my AnKara account", sent from the email address registered to your account, and include your business name. If you no longer have access to that email address, say so and we will ask for other details to confirm the account is yours.
We will confirm receipt, verify that the request comes from the account holder, and complete the deletion within 14 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in details
- Your business profile: name, P.O. Box, city, phone, email, TIN and bank details
- Your logo and brand colour
- All clients and invoices you created, including recurring invoices. Scheduled invoices and reminders stop immediately.
- Data the app saved on your phone (when you delete in the app)
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | Why it is kept | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription payment records (plan, amount, date, transaction reference), with your name, email and phone number removed | Tanzanian tax and accounting law | 5 years from the payment |
| Anonymised record of your payment consent | Evidence that payment data was processed lawfully | 5 years |
| Deletion log entry (date and an anonymised reference only) | Proof that your request was completed | 5 years |
| Server and message-delivery logs | Security and troubleshooting | Up to 30 days |
| Backups | Disaster recovery | Overwritten within 30 days |
Before you delete
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Save or share any invoices you need for your own tax and accounting records first.
- Deleting your account does not refund any unused part of your subscription.
- If you received an invoice sent through AnKara, you do not have an AnKara account. Contact the business that sent it, or email us and we will pass your request to them.
